When Megan and Den came to us through a family referral, we knew their wedding journey would be shaped by a rich personal history, high design, and a remarkable amount of heart. As the owner of Green Front Furniture, Den’s roots run deep in Farmville, Virginia, so the town was buzzing with excitement to celebrate the couple. Even while actively renovating their historic home in Richmond (@monumentbygreenfront), Megan and Den were deeply hands-on with every detail - collaborating with our team on everything from custom lighting and curated lounge spaces to the overall atmosphere of their weekend.

A Tuscan Courtyard Welcome

Megan and Den’s shared love for travel was on full display during their wedding weekend welcome experiences, designed to transport their guests straight to Italy.

The festivities kicked off with an intimate, single-table rehearsal dinner, giving guests a sneak peek at the warm, autumn color palette that would frame the celebration the following day. Immediately following dinner, the doors opened up to a lively, Amore-themed welcome party in the Green Front courtyard. Transformed into a sun-drenched Tuscan plaza, the space featured a made-to-order pizza station and passed Aperol Spritzes—a fun, relaxed start to the weekend that perfectly reflected the couple's adventurous spirit.

A Foundation of Family & Local Heritage

The wedding day brought the couple’s warm, heritage-inspired vision to life. Exchanging vows on Den’s childhood farm, where his parents still live, gave the ceremony a grounded, deeply personal feel that set the tone for the rest of the day.

After saying "I do," Megan and Den hosted a casual post-ceremony gathering right on the farm, giving their guests a chance to enjoy the breathtaking views in a relaxed setting before heading into town for the reception.

Sentimental details were found throughout the day. Den’s childhood signature—carved into the sidewalk years ago with his father's help—welcomed guests as they arrived at the reception space in downtown Farmville.

Sophisticated Ralph Lauren Aesthetic & Travel-Inspired Bars

Heading into downtown Farmville for the reception, the goal was to create an atmosphere that felt cozy, timeless, and effortlessly tailored. Our team transformed the active sales floor at Green Front Furniture into an inviting event space, using sweeping ceiling and wall drapes to soften the showroom into an intimate venue.

The aesthetic drew inspiration from classic Ralph Lauren styling, blending rich autumn textures, tailored plaids, and supple leather. Megan and Den leaned heavily into their design backgrounds, hand-selecting furniture straight from the showroom floor to build warm, elevated lounge spaces for their guests.

To anchor the room, they introduced two custom specialty bars inspired by their favorite places:

The European Martini Bar: A nod to Rocco, a romantic bar they fell in love with while traveling in Lisbon, Portugal.
The Local Whiskey Bar: A celebration of Virginia spirits, featuring a collection sourced entirely from a local distillery.

A Playful End to the Evening

To cap off a weekend filled with so many intentional, personal details, Megan and Den brought a fun, unexpected twist to the dance floor. As a playful nod to the bride’s ultimate craving, passed McDonald’s cheeseburgers and ice-cold cans of Diet Coke were handed out late into the night. Served in custom boxes stamped with their new shared monogram and paired with classic red-and-white striped straws, it was the perfect finish to an unforgettable celebration.
