When Bailey and Ford first reached out to us, they had a beautiful clarity of purpose: they were simply excited to be married. Coming to us as a referral from a previous client, the couple was looking for a planning partner to guide them through a swift, four-month timeline. Working closely with the couple and the bride’s mother, we managed the remaining logistics and curated a design that felt both grand in scale and full of intentional details.

A Foundation of Faith and Family

The celebration began exactly where Bailey and Ford’s weekends always do: at the church they attend together every Sunday. Exchanging vows in a sacred space already steeped in the rhythm of their daily lives lent a beautiful sense of comfort and meaning to the ceremony.

With a close family friend officiating, the service was a true reflection of their community. In a sweet moment that brought smiles to everyone in the pews, the youngest members of the family were included in the procession, pulled down the aisle in a charmingly decorated wagon and setting a warm, family-centric tone.

From Vision to Reality: A Vintage Wildflower Aesthetic

The historic headhouse at Richmond’s Main Street Station provided an incredible backdrop for the reception. The couple’s vision was anchored in a "vintage wildflower" aesthetic—a design story that was both moody and colorful, charmingly nostalgic, and rich with soft, rustic fall tones.

Olive green linens served as a sophisticated canvas for vibrant arrangements of autumn wildflowers. The natural warmth of the headhouse's dark wood trim was beautifully mirrored by matching wood chairs in the reception space, adding a softer, organic element to the industrial venue. As a sentimental nod to the local landscape, we subtly wove the golden, fan-shaped leaves of Richmond's iconic Monument Avenue ginkgo trees into the floral design—a specific visual the bride had dreamed of from the very beginning.

The Beauty of Handcrafted Details

From the beginning, Bailey and Ford were intent on making sure guests felt included in their love story. They chose meaningful, handcrafted elements to scatter throughout the evening, ensuring their loved ones felt connected to every piece of the celebration.

Immediately following the ceremony, our team captured a candid Polaroid photo of the newlyweds and placed it atop their wedding cake—a fresh, instant heirloom to welcome guests into the space. Bailey showcased her own creative talents by hand-making beautiful fabric signs for the welcome entrance and the bars. In a romantic nod to their connection, the cocktail napkins featured printed replicas of handwritten notes exchanged between the bride and groom. Custom koozies at the bar featured a delicate line drawing of Main Street Station in a rich fall palette.

To keep their friends and family engaged in real-time, the couple utilized the POV app. By scanning QR codes throughout the night, guests could upload their own candid snapshots directly into a shared digital album, allowing everyone to see the day through each other's eyes.

A Homey Departure

As the reception came to a close, Bailey and Ford chose a departure that perfectly matched their grounded approach to the day. After a grand exit down the front steps of Main Street Station, they walked out hand-in-hand, slipped into their own car, and quietly drove home together—a beautiful ending to a day that was always, at its heart, simply about the two of them.
